Paranoid Personality Disorder has about 2.5% of the population. Of course it's a small amount of people, but it causes a great deal of issues for those individuals. For starters, think about the disorder for a moment. A few of my questions that I asked first was: Everybody gets paranoid so what's the different between my paranoia versus someone diagnosed with the whole big long title...., How does it affect their life? Do they take meds for them? If so, What kind? In my quest to figure out all the answers to my question, I've realized that paranoia consumes their life. Everyone is lying to them. They are constantly being cheated on by a spouse. It's generalized as a having mistrust in others. Everything in life is the negative, and their mission is to prove their suspicions right. I have learned that there are two levels of this disorder. You can have a person who is quiet with their disorder and deals with the problem between him/her and the other person it deals with directly or you can have the type of person who does the blurt outs and is the person that causes a scene. Medication for individuals is difficult because they have to feel they can trust their doctor to take any kind of medication from them. Once they have that trust they can have a variety of medicine such as antidepressants, anti-psychotics and anti-anxiety. How does the fact that people are now being diagnosed for paranoia related issues make you feel? Do you feel that it’s fake and excuse to deal with life and its challenges? Let me know what you think.
